From the foundation of the Church believers have gathered together in homes to teach, encourage, and support one another in following Christ (Acts 2:42-47). We are called to pursue what the Lord has for us with others (2 Tim. 2:22). Life Groups provide us with the opportunity to do just this! Our Life Groups are a means for you to get connected at MGBC and build meaningful, Christ-centered relationships.

Build. Encourage. Disciple. Challenge.

These four words describe the core values of our Life Groups. Although groups may look different in size, age, or study each group exists to pursue and facilitate these important aspects of godly relationships.

  •  We build relationships by spending time together. Life Groups vary in meeting times. Most groups generally meet one to two times a month at different times and locations. Click the link below to find the best meeting time and place that works for you.
  •   We encourage one another through sharing the truth of God’s Word, intentionally praying for one another, looking for ways to serve, and the giving of godly counsel (Eph. 4:15, 1 Peter 4:10,   . As we share life together, we learn how best to care for one another. Scripture contains over 50 “one another” passages, giving us clear instruction and command in how we serve one another as a church body. Life Groups are a home for each of these verses to be carried out and realized in full.
  •   A disciple is a “learning follower of Jesus Christ.” Each week our pastors provide sermon reflection, study, and discussion questions to dig deeper and go further in understanding and applying the Word of God. Life Groups are encouraged to use these questions along with other means of study that each member would “…grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). As members of Life Groups discuss and work through these questions and Scripture together, discipleship happens. Studying the Word together as Life Groups is also a springboard to reaching out to others who do not yet know Christ. Life Groups know that disciples make disciples (Matt. 28:19-20) so they seek to maintain a focus of praying for and reaching out to the lost with the Gospel! Check out this week’s questions below.
  • James gives the challenge that we must not only be hearers of the Word but doers (James 1:22). In Life Groups there is spiritual accountability and partnership that no one may grow stagnant in their walks with Christ. The Lord desires that we would bear much fruit (John 15:8). Life Groups are a means that we may encourage, serve, challenge, and support one another to that end (Heb. 10:23-25)!
